Munamase Clan
The Munamase Clan was founded in the early days of the Yugawan Monarchy by Maple Munamase. Though not an officially recognized house for three generations after the fact, the Munamase Clan grew in strength and numbers, gathering Onigo and the newly arrived Chimera under their name. There were even some benevolent Yokai that were allowed to join the clan. It was said that “the Munamase are the kingdom's garbage collectors, gathering the flotsam of the nation”, but that supposed “garbage” eventually made them one of the seven largest houses in the country.
By the time of the first War of the Blossoms, the clan head, Tanto Munamase, was an officially recognized Shogun. Together with the Takohi, Manade, and Agamashi – now vassalized as Daimyo – they fought for the right of the mountain peoples to be self-governing. This earned them the favor of Chihan, Nihana, and Hasana villages, allowing them to build their palace in the foothills of the Sen Mountains.
They grew over the following centuries, growing into the third most powerful house in Yugawa. In 1024 AK, the clan head, Stone Munamase, was asked to serve as the king's war councilor. This proved to be a major step, as the War of the Divine Heir followed only a few years later, cementing the Munamase for years to come.
However, in 1561 AK, the Munamase clan were wiped out. Though their leader, Date Munamase, tried valiantly to save his people, the only survivors were his young heirs, Sparrow and Cherry Munamase.
