Demon

Demons are the creatures of Pandemonium. Creatures born of the Three Hells or that are intrinsically imbued with dark energy are referred to as “Infernals”, but Demons are one specific type of Infernal. One thing that sets them apart is that they have no true physical form. They are born from Pandemonium itself. This translates into a number of factors.
The first of these is the fact that they cannot be truly killed. As long as Pandemonium exists, there can be no true end to the Demons. Rather than die, when their physical form is destroyed, they simply become dark energy. After a certain period of time, they will reform as a low-tier demon. What kind of Demon they return as is up to them, but they are limited in what their new body will look like.
The second is the fact that, if they consume enough mortal souls or absorb enough dark energy from other Infernals, they will be able to “ascend”, creating a new physical form for themselves. This makes them mid-tier, allowing them to become new varieties of Demon. If they ascend again, they will be high-tier, again able to reform themselves. A third time makes them an Archdemon. One might think this to be the cap, but the difference between a newly formed Archdemon and one of the Demon Lords is astronomical. However, this is the last tier of ascension.
Thirdly, Demons cannot enter the mortal world without a tether, as they are not physical beings. They are able to manifest in Pandemonium because of the rich dark energy, but, as the mortal world doesn't, they aren't able to do so. However, if they called to the mortal world via a summoning or are able to affix their energy to something in the physical world, they are able to remain there. Possessing mortals is the easiest way to do this, as they can use the soul as a power source to maintain their presence, but that's not the only way.
The Demon race is ruled over by the Demon Lords. This is the fourth and final thing brought out by their lacking true physical forms. Unlike Archangels that are inherently the most powerful Celestials, any Demon has the potential to become a Lord. Any demon is capable of absorbing enough dark energy or souls and overthrowing a Lord. However, this hasn't happened for over three thousand years, so the positions are rather locked.

Genetics and Reproduction

While in a physical form in the material world, they are able to reproduce, imparting their darkness and creating a Jackel. They are not capable to procreating Demons, as they simply form from the ambient energy of Pandemonium.

Growth Rate & Stages

Their growth and stages is entirely dependent on their energy intake. If they lack the power to ascend, they will stay in their form indefinitely. If they are destroyed, they will restart the process.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They don't need to eat, but, when they do, it's souls and elemental energy.

Social Structure

The Demonic hierarchy is entirely predicated on power level. At the top, sit the Lords. Below them are the Hell Princes. Below them are the Archdemons, then high-tier, mid-tier, and, finally, low-tier demons.
The culture varies based on whose domain the Demons are in, but there is a general atmosphere of authority surrounding the Lords. They are actually capable of sending their power into the area around themselves, creating various effects. This influences the social structure, as it is a sort of trump card that can shift a situation however the Lord pleases.
