Plymcroftian Delights: a Recipe Collection
Self published, written, concocted, and (primarily) taste tested by a human chef named Tomas Erts, this collection of food recipes shows staple foods and dishes coveted by those in the Gloomcroft Province of the Dorione Empire.
Purpose
Tomas Erts once was a chef for his local lord. Renown for his creations and cooking expertise, his expertise in his craft was noticed by the Count of Gloomcroft itself. Count Aldritch Von Chilwic III of Plymcroft, the leader of the province took notice of Tomas at a dinner being held in House Haygarr, ancestral home and seat of power of the Haygarr line; the proprietors of the House Haygarr Southern Stout one of the most renown stouts in Plymcroft, Mudston, and The Highlands Provinces. Cound Chilwic III commissioned a book of the recipes Tomas had collected, refined, and crafted across his time so that the royal chefs at the Count's stead may produce such high quality meals. So Tomas did what any loyal subject to the count would do: he cooked.
Document Structure
Clauses
The culinary manual is divided into classes of meals by the occasion in which each meal is appropriate to be consumed. In the Gloomcroft Province, the people take tradition as the utmost important part of most gatherings and ways of life. Celebratory meals are buttery and spiced while a meal preparing for a large scale event or during a meeting of counts and viscounts are more subtle and tame so attention is focused on conversation and detecting intrigue.
References
Teachings that Tomas had received from notable figures of his past such as past mentors and his own mother are referenced countless times throughout the document. These lessons range from how specifically to melt butter into a dish, prepare a portion of a meal to coincide with the conclusion of another portion, or how to remove the poison sac from a Glass Sea Eel for the Grymwoldian Territory traditional meal without causing harm to yourself or the one consuming the meal.
Publication Status
The book was produced initially for Count Aldritch Von Chilwic III. The solely published copy lies within Castle Plymcroft in the capital of the province. Tomas keeps a working copy in the kitchen and his study in House Haygarr so he may add or make changes, one day seeking to publish the book further to a wider audience.
