Tangongtou Tair-tak-w'toyar: Null Mover 23

After the invention of portal technology, there was still a need to travel where portals had not yet been built, both planet-side and in the far reaches of space. To this end, a model of disposable portals were designed, and a vehicle was developed and mass-produced for intrepid adventurers and state-sponsored exploration missions.

Power Generation

The vessel primarily uses thermal energy to power its internal systems. However, the vehicle itself moves relatively slowly, relying on kinetic energy to move itself through space.

Propulsion

The vehicle projects a portal forward at a fast speed and a equally-sized portal at a slower speed. Newton's Third Law would dictate that the vehicle would be pushed backwards into the portal it launched behind it. Both portals activate. The vehicle would move through the portal behind it into the portal in front of it, collect the portal in front of it, and repeat the process.

Weapons & Armament

The tangongtou is equipped with chemical spray, used to dissolve weak bonds and turn large kinetic objects into smaller, more manageable pieces.

Armor and defense

In the instance of asteroid attacks, the vessel is equipped to surround itself with portals, allowing anything smaller than the vessel itself to pass through unimpeded. Anything larger than the vessel itself is broken into smaller portions via its weaponry.

Communication Tools & Systems

The tangongtou has coordinates to a portal next to the launch planet's Universal Communications Array (UCA). Any and all communications go through a portal onboard the ship to the communications array before distribution through the rest of the world.

Sensors

The tangongtou works in any chemical surroundings and cannot predict or observe the environment in front of itself, so no sensors are attached. The operators must manually determine the threats to its sides. If the portal in front of it can no longer operate, the portal behind it naturally cannot work.

Additional & auxiliary systems

The tangongtou stores on its computer the frequencies of all the discarded portals behind it, allowing the vessel to backtrack to any previous point.
