The Iron Hall (Khara Drong)
The perfectly carved steps are draped with soft thick powder that crunches underfoot up the mountain. Along the stairs, hot large iron braziers are lit, making the walk up to the doors pleasant and warming. Ahead, is the thirty foot tall steel doors of the Iron Hall. A dozen fully armored Dwarves in plated armor of stone stand firm and stoic against the stinging cold. Their halberds and axes upright and shields still as the mountain itself. The doors are slightly ajar letting people go to and from the Hall. The closer you get the louder the hardy roar of the Dwarves becomes. Entering the city, its massive pillars of beautifully carved stone, support the high vaulted ceiling of the mountain. Dwarves mosey around the stone street rows, as it is built in a mathematical way. Consisting of city blocks, centers and rows. You can hear the banging of mugs and shouts of laughter, and the sight of friendly street brawls dot the roads. Above all else, you hear the sound of heavy pounding on the Iron Forge, a massive anvil that a dozen Dwarves on steps hammer away relentlessly at with great mithral mauls.
The Iron Hall was built thousands of years ago by the Dwarves, but now is only one of few remaining great citadels of their race. They are a proud people, and swear undying fealty to the king under the mountain, known as the Forgemaster.
