The Abyss
An endless pit of demons. Testimony from gods and demons who have been there, including Golenna, Fex, Diana, and Sul, state that’s it extends downwards to depths that they never reached, although they couldn’t confirm it was infinite, as only Gae could confirm that. Each layer is different, and many have a demon lord who rules over them and control them.
Geography
Each layer is different. If any one demon is much more powerful than the other demons inhabiting the layer, than the layer reforms itself to them.
On the top layer, it shifts drastically whenever one of the gray spawning clouds crosses across the landscape. Some landforms that have been seen on this layer include pits of lightning, geysers of fire, bodies of water that descend far enough that they should poke through into the next layer, but don’t, and holes that lead to the next layer. This layer expands infinitely outwards, but also has the lowest population.
The second layer is considered the least dangerous and least chaotic of the known layers. It’s landscape is a large grassy field with trees dotted around it, streets crisscrossing around the field, with the only buildings, each of which showcase some sort of talent. Some are movie theaters, showing movies made in the layer. Some are theatres that show plays written there, or talent shows of the resident’s talents. At the center is a hole to the next layer, surrounded by a heavily defended radio broadcast station. Testimonies describe the demons here as disturbingly nice.
The third layer is considered the most structured of them all. Souls and demons drop into this layer in a large courtyard, with a clearly labeled exam room to one side. The exam room has the demon lord of the layer in it, a tall black Humanoid with curled ram's horns who proctors the exam, and handing out tests to newcomers.
The fourth layer is a sea with many boats on it, with depths that hold many large sea creatures, like Krakens, and whose depths contain gates to other worlds. Souls that fall down to this layer end up walking up steps from a ship's hold. Many ghost ships, piloted by either demons or ghosts patrol the seas. Gigantic waves, riptides, swells, waterfalls, and whirlpools open up on the sea, and some parts of the sea are sloped, allowing for the waterfalls.
