Emperor of Belahir
The leader and ruler of Belahir with absolute power over the kingdom. This person, historically only males, decides nearly everything inside Hickol, lives in the palace in Hickol, and decides matters of policy, diplomacy, military, and law. He can erect or tear down buildings with a word, change government policy in a second, make treaties or break them without having to answer to anybody, move armies with a sentence, and pardon or execute somebody with no delay or reason.
Requirements
To be the son or grandson of the previous Emperor, with preference to the eldest.
Appointment
An Prince of Belahir becomes emperor if the former emperor dies and if they are a direct male descendant of the former emperor, have no living elder brother or a dead elder brother with living male descendants, and the same holds true for all of their direct male ancestors up to the former emperor. This is instantaneous, without the need for any ceremony, and they instantly have full authority, although traditionally they do not use this power for any reason for a week of mourning the previous emperor's death, then spend a week using it to its fullest, throwing a party in the capital, Hickol, which most cities with any large amount of wealth, including in the south, join in with.
Duties
They are expected to further the purposes of Belahir, which used to include spreading their borders, and which now means strengthening the armies, increasing the treasure in the treasury, increase happiness, and increasing security.
