The Light is the reason for the Mistlands' existence, and the presence of the humans and their settlements. A non-corporeal, otherworldly being, The Light became curious about the human inhabitants and desired to learn more about them and their existence. To this end The Light drew from three towns in the areas and time periods that it was most interested by and brought them to a pocket dimension of its own creation. Firmly ensconced within the lighthouse at the centre of The Mistlands, The Light observes the entirety of its domain, observing the humans that it has brought here, seeking to understand them, but never interfering as that would disrupt the results of its observations.
