OWLBEAR AFFLICTION

Owlbear Affliction is a disease that slowly increases the aggressiveness and irritability of a person over the course of time. The exact cause is still unknown but many believe that this sickness is tied with curses.
The exact origin of where this disease came from is quite controversial. No one is quite sure of how the Owlbear Affliction came to be. Due to this, many nobles use this to push their agenda while the common folks believe that the curse became to be due to one prideful noble. Some suggest that it first started due to a prideful noble who got too close to a nest of which an angry mother owl bit him. He later killed the mother owl and fed it to his pet bear which got sick of some sort of animal disease and bit the prideful noble-- or that's how the legend went.

Physical Changes

There are two types of results of people who got Owlbear Affliction changed physically. One result will cause the diseased person to turn into sludge or have a sludge-like appearance. Another result transforms its host into an avian monster that bears a likeness to the creature itself. It is also able to transform its host into an avian humanoid form, like a harpy in appearance. It is believed that those who are magical that was afflicted with Owlbear Affliction tend to transform to an Owl Beast while those who are not magical that was afflicted with Owlbear Affliction tend to transform sludge or have a sludge-like appearance. 

Treatments

As of right now, there is no cure for those who are afflicted with Owlbear Affliction. Those who are afflicted with Owlbear Affliction must drink a special potion regularly to prevent the transformation of the Owl Beast or Slime. It is also possible for witches/wizards/mages to use their magic to deny the disease though it would be tiring.
