The Enclaves of Aurea
A sparse nation which holds little territory. Each monastery exists on an island which may or may not be otherwise occupied by another nation. They are the most pious, and devote themselves spiritually and physically to uphold the ideals of the god despite their absence. The people rarely leave the monasteries, so they are typically awe-struck when visiting other islands. The ancestral protectors of the Portal of Air are the Bahamut-worshiping monks of Deitner Abbey.
Structure
The nation is more of a series of outposts on small, lightly populated islands. The government is highly decentralized, and each Auran enclave is as diverse as the gods they worship. In fact, each monastery is devoted to one god, typically the god thought to have created that island.
Public Agenda
Aurea aims to uphold the divinity of the gods, despite their absence. They do good deeds and carry out the will of their gods. Part of that involves maintaining each of their islands.
History
Befitting its loosely organized nature, the creation of Aurea happened over centuries. As the small, pious, otherwise powerless monasteries began to meet each other, they banded together in ties of preserving their religions. While this bond is as temperamental as the relationship between the gods themselves, they would defend each other from outsiders at the drop of a hat.
