The Lake of Fallen Stars

The Stars are important to many cultures throughout Windoreld, and are extremely prominent in the Elmetain culture and religions. One important location is the Lake of Fallen Stars, within the lands of the Crystal Elmetain. This lake is hundreds of years old and carries much power and healing to the Earth.

Geography

The Lake is only small, and it is known for it’s glimmering. When the moonlight shines upon it the glimmering is breathtaking. The shimmering comes from the bottom and is the result of crystals.

Natural Resources

The water from this Lake is toxic as some chemicals from the crystals are poisonous. It is rumoured the Elm can drink it and survive while others can not.

History

The Elmetain believe crystals to be fallen stars and they often make a prayer to the earth by holding a crystal and then throwing it into the lake. Crystals of all colours are used depending on their purpose, which results in rainbow-like shimmering. This lake is sacred to all different sub-species of Elmetain and it’s preservation is of the utmost priority.   Crystals that are thrown in can range from the colours of orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, silver and gold. Popular stones are amethyst, hematite, quartz, calcite and jasper.   This Lake has been used in rituals for hundreds of years so the water toxicity levels are extremely high. Be careful not to fall into the lake as many of the crystals that lay on the bottom are sharp and dangerous.

Tourism

Elm from other cultures that get along with the Crystal Elm may occasionally visit this location to honour the Earth.
Do not drink the waters of the Lake of Fallen Stars, for you shall not see the sun rise again.
