Bubbling Fingers

Bubbling Fingers is a condition that was affecting the lower class peoples of Doranor. At first no one knew much about it, only that fingers started bubbling and occasionally the skin around the mouth was bubbling too. 
People went into panic and thought a pandemic was on the horizon, though it seemed to only affect the lower class, women more often than men and rarely young children. 
Eventually it was discovered that some of the recent harvest grains had been contaminated with some chemical compound and when touching it during cooking, it would later result in bubbling of the skin. However, they wondered why it did not bubble everyone’s mouth when eating it and why it didn’t hurt their insides. 
The chemical did not affect anyone’s mouth when it had been heated over 200c, if cooked below this temperature it still seemed to affect the skin. No one is sure as to why it doesn’t make the insides bubble.

Causes

A chemical compound has been found on the latest harvest.

Symptoms

Bubbling skin in the affected area, stomach aches and head aches.

Treatment

Charcoal, crushed burdock root and calendula. This mixture seems to heal the boils slowly and efficiently, though deep ones may scar.

Prognosis

The cause is the chemicals found in the latest harvest though no one knows how or when the chemical got onto the supply, it is said that it is probably natural.

Affected Groups

Usually lower class women and servants. Men are rarely found cooking so not many of them have been affected, though farmers have been and so have some men that have eaten it when not hot enough.

Hosts & Carriers

This can be transferred from one person to another if the affected area is not cleaned properly before contact, one may also transfer it from one’s own hands to one’s own other body parts in the same way.

Prevention

Avoiding the wheat from the latest harvest, this has had negative impacts on the economy.
