Past few days were: Merryfrond's Day, Day of confrontation with Marquise and errands, long dream, Now morning of departure

After awaking form a strange dream about Barren Eve and an international arms dealer, Cool Santa, the Musical Menagerie opened the gifts they found in their rooms. Iris ushered everyone out of The Blue Balor and across town to a simple residence in the Open Quay. There, she introduced you all to Misty Wing and Top Card, her parents.

Wing and Card were thrilled to see their daughter making friends and doing well, and they gladly hosted a pleasant breakfast and calm morning with everyone.

After breakfast, you swung by Mapenntan's to peruse the items that Zhafe Uludan granted you access to. Instead of the friendly tiefling you're familiar with, you found them physically and magically exhausted. But, they had a bunch of stuff for you to use and your personal items for you to take (which they forgot to charge you for in their tired state.)

Having chosen your seven items, you picked up some trinkets and finally made your way out of Nicodranas around noon. You swiftly covered ground for the afternoon and made it to the edge of the Quoraska Jungle before setting up camp. Ren and Petrus took the first watch, but, Ren, you were lost in your feels, so you didn't notice the shadowy threat Petrus was facing man-to-man just beyond the silent glow of the dwindling fire. As the silence dropped from the campsite though, you heard a voice spew threats at Petrus but he disappeared before your eyes could make out anything in the darkness. Petrus, though, you watched the figure drop his illusory disguise revealing himself to be the Human Bandit Mercenary that you slaughtered in The Shadows way back when. He cursed you and then vanished with a flash from his purple amulet.

So, Ren, you've stood up. You're surrounded by the chirping night, and your friend Petrus has clearly faced some trouble in the darkness. What do you do?
