General Summary

After winning the Bardle at the illustrious Merryfrond's Day celebration there was an attack of wyvern riders. Once all the enemies were eliminated, Nixx returned the Brutal Macuahuitl to complete his bounty with Chessia Wakiam.

Leaving the scene of the crime, you ducked inside The Blue Balor where Baal was helping Kavon Brightwood recover from his injury. You adjourned to your room and spoke with the head of the lizardfolk leader. Comet, in a very cool combo of spells, you had the following questions answered:

  • Why did you attack: A Warning
  • Where did you attack from: Quoraska
  • Who gave the attack order: The Favored Daughter of The Black Doom
  • When will the next attack be: Soon
  • What are the attacks warning of: Doom

For the rest of the evening, Iris tinkered with the poisoner's kit and the wyvern tail with little success. I think Nixx went to find Testriv but he was closed. While Ren and Petrus escorted Comet to the Wharf to find Captain Rixa Rae Silver. Instead, in the dark, Comet landed on a poor old man's boat and couldn't find the captain he sought.

Folsen, 1st of Unndilar

The next morning, though you were planning to speak with Lieutenant Erodh Tathviel  anyway, you were woken up by a knock saying there were guards here to escort you. Led by a cheery Zhelezo and an all-business Crownsguard you were brought before Marquis Zhafe Uludan to explain your involvement in the skirmish. Next, Matt was brought in to levy charges of theft and damage of private property. Growing impatient with your long-winded explanations, the Marquise then showed his hand by accusing Comet, or, Deathnote, of piracy. All these charges added up quickly.

However, he also offered your party absolution in the form of aiding the Clovis Concord. See, there are two main plagues facing Nicodranas specifically that are causing heavy losses to personnel. He offered a choice:

  1. Hunt down whatever is attacking from the East in Quoraska Jungle
  2. Use your social connections in the West to convince The Revelry to cease operations along the coast
  3. Or, and he offered this sarcastically, flee the charges and become enemies of the Concord

He gave you 24 hours of privacy to think about the offer. Upon leaving the estate, your winged kobold friend caught you and brought you to Charlie at The Avian to hear who won the Bardle competition. Kid Kobold got third, Reeve got second, and The Musical Menagerie secured the bag! You were awarded a sack worth 2,800gp and the opportunity to draw from a Deck of Many Things which Brakobark presented.

  1. Iris drew Rogue which turned the trust of one NPC.
  2. Petrus drew Star, Key, Fool, and Comet which, respectively, increased his Dexterity by 2, blessed him with a rare magic weapon, stole XP while forcing a redraw, and offered a free level up if he defeated the next monster/group of monsters single-handedly.
  3. Ren drew Euryale which aggressively cursed him and Skull which summoned an avatar of death to attack him.
  4. Comet drew Ruin which caused all forms of non-magical wealth to be lost to him.
  5. Fifth and similar to Comet but more tragically, Satreus drew Talons which caused all magical items he carried to disintegrate. But then he drew Vizier which offered a fantastic vision and the ability to at any point ask a question of the universe and receive a truthful answer.

Of the 14 cards available in the normally 22-card deck, there are 4 remaining in the box once Satreus drew his final card. Brakobark pulls the box back and snaps it shut as he says:

Wow, lots of magic today—good and bad. To be honest, I've never had a group this large pull from this deck before; [He casually turns to Charlie] at this rate it'll regenerate with one or two more winners!

And Charlie rasps

[qoute]Yeah that sounds about right[/quote]
