020 • The Bardle Finale

General Summary

Merryfrond's Day: Conthsen, 31st of Thunsheer

The festival is in full swing and The Musical Menagerie has just made it into the final round of the Bardle Competition alongside Kid Kobold and Reeve.

Reeve is apparently in league with Yussa Errenis since Yussa has asked you, Ren, to lose the competition to Reeve. Not willing to renegotiate the favor that you agreed to Ren, you have no choice but to talk to your party about it. Together, you go to find Reeve at The Crossed Wands Inn to interrogate him and see if you can understand why Yussa would want this. Whether you feel as though you got that question answered or not, Reeve tells you why he would like to win: His beloved Alizabeth is under the thumb of an evil deity.

Nonetheless, determined to not help him, or at the very least, determined to not lose the Bardle, you return to The Blue Balor to prepare for your performance. Comet busts out some cool masks that he and Nixx swiped from Matt and distributes them to those that don't mind using stolen goods. The simple wooden one adopts a shiny geometric visage and, turns out, the one that looked like an evil skull was cursed! When Comet puts it on his voice becomes deep and echoless.

In any case, the show must go on! You followed your Urd attendant to the stage where the street was packed with folks including your friends, and you watched the first two acts. Kid Kobold opened and got the crowd warm followed by Reeve who captivated them with his glamorous and magical showing. Y'all closed out the evening and Kavon Brightwood congratulated all the performers on a job well done.

As your friend Kavon was finishing his remarks about enjoying the rest of the day celebrating Merryfrond, there was a bone-chilling, warbling, screech as an arrow pierced straight through Kavon's eye, a wyvern landed on a nearby roof, spraying the crowd with poison, and screeching once more.

We pick up as the cries ring out through this now-panicked crowd. Before returning to Initiative, I need a WIS save from Petrus with disadvantage.
