Pharos Animal Sanctuary
Pharos Animal Sanctuary is a medium sized farm
Purpose / Function
The Pharos Animal Sanctuary exists to provide medical care and respite to local domestic and wild animals.
Alterations
Originally the animal sanctuary was a farm. It was inherited by Dana Summer a human druid from her parents. She choose to change its purpose and altered some of the structures so they were more fitting to caring for a wider range of animals besides just domestic ones.
Architecture
There is a simple stone farmhouse with a thatched roof that serves as a residence for those who tend the various animals that are residents of the the sanctuary. For the care of larger animals there are a number of wood and stone corrals and a stone and thatch barn with wooden stalls and flooring. Smaller animals have a stone and thatch building of there own filled with spacious cages that are mostly wood with some wire. The birds have a avery building that is a thatched roof alone so they get enough fresh air and wooden slat and wire cages that are suitable for avians of a wide range of types. There are also a number of runs for small animals and a large wire pavilion for helping injured avians regain flight skills. Present as well is a secondary barn of stone and thatch with wooden pens in it suitable for medium animals along with stone and wood corrals suitable to them.
History
The Pharos Animal Sanctuary came into being when Dana Summer found that she was being overwhelmed with caring for local domestic animals that required extensive care or had been abandoned. As well as a plethora of injured birds from interactions with people and their pets. She could not bear to let any being suffer and word had spread and people started regularly bringing animals to her. She enlisted other druids and clerics to aid her in assisting and turned the family farm she had inherited into the place it is today.
