Adamantite
The Strongest Metal
Mined from ancient deposits found beneath the mountains of the world, Adamantite is the hardest substance known to any race on Wandrei. Heavy, strong, and able to be forged into nearly any shape just like steel, Adamantite is extremely valuable, but extremely rare.

Material Characteristics
Stronger and harder than the best steel, dark grey-black in color, shines when polished like other metals
Physical & Chemical Properties
Incredibly hard and strong
Geology & Geography
Found in ancient deposits deep in the mountains of the world and in the Underdark, and can be found in meteorites that fall from the sky.
Origin & Source
Believed to have originated from the stars, since deposits are found in usually very small and isolated amounts and the only other place to find adamantite is in meteorites.
History & Usage
Discovery
The Dwarves discovered and first used Adamantite to create defenses and armaments for their Underdark kingdom.
Everyday use
Used as a material to make armor, weapons, and similar items.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Dwarves value Adamantite highly, since it is culturally tied to their earliest ancestors who founded Dwarfhall. They pay 2 to 3 times more for any they can find, whether raw, crafted, or powdered, and try to amass as much as possible. Other races value the metal highly as well for its military uses, but not as zealously as the Dwarves.
Refinement
Smelts down and is able to be forged like iron, but at a higher temperature
Manufacturing & Products
Weapons, armors, siege engines, rarely jewelry, sculptures, and ornamental goods.
Hazards
Forging adamantite is dangerous because the temperatures required to melt down the metal is so high.
