Drowning Sea

The Drowning Sea is body of water east of Paelum and north of Esindra. The name comes from the unknown and numerous amount of shipwrecks and loss of life. It is either the shifting sands or the ghosts of the people who have died in the area that can deceive sailors. Some even believe that it is a witch that is responsible for numerous lives lost in this area.

Geography

The drowning sea is the space east of Paelum. It consists of various small islands and inlets, but it mostly shifting sands and shallow waters around @Oktov and Paelum's peninsula. The unpredictable currents and shifting sands have led to this part of the ocean being littered with shipwrecks. While it is enticing for looters and scavengers, the waters are cool and restless.

Localized Phenomena

Survivors have stated that they have seen floating lights above the waters, which they wrongly assumed meant clear waters and a ship ahead. This almost always led to the exact opposite.
Other sailors have claimed to hear a female voice within the waves and during storms. The voice is hypnotic and calming. The voice either has lead sailors to jump overboard or drop their guard long enough for the ship to crash. Due to this rumor, many people believe that there is a witch drowning sailors in this area.
