Lore

Having appeared seemingly out of nowhere in Shay around Dalmara in 1,346AGC during the midweek of Teplain seemingly a woman of no import or past she was first seen purchasing the deed for an abandoned old roadside in close to the Chrysaria/Ixarian Boarder, on the Chrysarian side after a few weeks of hard labour the establishment opened again, as a cosy Tavern and Inn by the name of 'Ruby's Rest' taking in business from travelers and a recently built small village nearby with a focus for woodcutting and hunting in the nearby forests and was quickly made known for its beautiful garden.
Soon after she was established Ruby would gather an aspiring team of arena combatants to promote the tavern in the upcoming local tourney. With the help of business partner at the time who was only known by the name 'Sisk'. The Team consisted of a Traveler named Gary, a young Farmhand named Staton, a former soldier named Khristoff and the young aspiring arena fighter, Tal'hara Maloth. It was through her connection with Tal'hara that Ruby made fast friends her mother, Rena Maloth and aunt Noira Maloth, the family making regular trips to her Tavern.
The Arena team took the name of 'Rubies Restitutes' to fight in the Dalmara tournament in a non-fatal knock-out tourney against various four person teams with Tal'hara as the team leader. As a united front the team pushed through each fight coming out on top until a close final battle pulled forward by quick actions from 'Gary' who managed to lay the final blow on the Decimators' champion brought the team to Victory where they were treated to meeting the Royal family at a feast the following night. The victory did as intended and bought great glory to the Tavern, where Lady Ruby was able to meet many new contacts including the Lady Sarisha of the Sapphire Siren in Dalmara, as well as lady Anemun a Khembi Den Mistress of the Sudar, who offered to uproot herself and run a new den within Rubys' Rest itself.
The coming weeks were eventful, with a kidnapping of Tal'hara rescued in large part down to her team-mate Khristophoros' efforts from Tower slavers which lead to Rubies allies routing a hidden camp of theirs, followed by the ever growing tensions of the Shayan-Ixarian war. The Lady's attentions were brought to the nearest Ixarian town of Sythal during the time of the Demon-hound infestation. It's unclear what her dealings were in Sythal but by the end of it she had rescued a handful of orphans lead by her later adopted daughter 'Keera' who at the time went by the alias of 'Scar'. As Ruby grew her profits and continued to meet various important individuals of the area she kept busy right up until the end of the war which ended in 1,349AGC.
Shortly after the hounds were discovered in Sythal and the Baron executed, Ixaria's overwhelming forces managed to push their way into Chrysaria, and take the capitol of Dalmara, and soon after the rest of Shay, unfortunately for Ruby, her tavern sat on the wrong side of the border during the invasion, and while she tried to maintain neutrality, Ruby's rest was raided and several of her employee's were slaughtered and she herself captured. Though her time in captivity was short, having escaped her tavern the same evening, beaten, bruised and defiled she met with several of her allies, including Sarisha, who chose to flee with her. The survivors up north hid for a time in the slavers former camp before they managed to steal a ship from the small port of luttin. They barely managed to sail the ship north as no one among the survivors knew how to sail, regardless they managed to follow the Ethallion coast to the southern edges of Mealdross.
Selling their stolen ship and heading inland towards Rissia, they made their way to Virantis where Noira Maloth took them in for a time, loaning them coin to start a new business venture. Picking some land on a popular crossroad by northern Rissia they built themselves a new home, starting with a stone bastion they build wooden homes and a tavern around it.. and soon a small village they named Sun-springs. Ruby and her fellow associates took up the monikers of gems each a head of a different business, Sapphire would run the bordellos, Diamond the casinos, Ruby the gardens and taverns and Onyx the Khambi dens.
Sunsprings would consist of a central structure beyond its courtyard which acted as the tavern and bordello, separated down the middle, with buildings around the square to act to house the khambi den and Casino- and soon after Rena would take up a building to house her growing Tailor chain 'Moonstone Designs', a name given to her by Ruby who considered her an 'honorary gem' despite her business independence. With Great garden at the back along with high quality and discrete services Sunsprings would start to attract the Virantian nobility as a village of leisure.
Over time Ruby would gain contacts through her clients in the nobility and she continued to grow her business, branching out over the years to start new arms of her business in a bordello in Stark-rock, a Casino in Virantis, and after a violent gang-conflict in Bellfyr she inherited a bordello to which set set up neighboring businesses around the building before handing the bordello itself off to Sapphire. It was also noted that she donated coin to a local orphanage, and a neighboring school in Bellfyr, and converted half a warehouse into a kitchen for the homeless- where she would occasionally hire and train the destitute to serve her growing business empire.
With her ties to the Maloth house, and their construction of Malthia, Ruby saw opportunity to expand her business venture to a new frontier, with the Mealdrossian Imperial war, recently having ended, and Malthia playing a foothold to govern a new untamed territory, Ruby saw a town that would draw many mercenaries and adventurers alike, though with two taverns already set up shop in Malthia. Ruby would instead focus on a Bordello, with a small casino and Khambi addition to the sizable patch of land that she was able to acquire through her connections in House Maloth.
In her time In Malthia, Ruby contained her expansion for a while, investing in a young entrepreneur who sought out to set up a hot-spring and spa in the Mealwyn mountains at the sky-dock, and she spent much of her time establishing her connections around Malthia itself, with the occasional visit to Virantis. Her contributions to the Virantian empire, connections to nobility and the success of her business empire awarded her the status of the lesser Nobility within the Empire, to which she founded her house, House Bellondia, whose colours where Purple, Red and Gold. She abandoned the moniker 'Ruby' going henceforth by her full name Rubella Bellondia. It was with her new status of Nobility that she officially adopted her wards Keera and Kurtan, formally known as Scar and Shank.
A few years would pass and she would make a deal with the Virantian Trade-Lord Blanc Cruxious, who had recently been developing the worlds first large airships in partnership with the Mealdrossian Trade-lord Harris Thern using a new material discovered in the timber found in an expedition into the Sergani Maelstrom. This deal would see her to a commissioned airship of her own, the first of its kind, while others had airships made for military purposes, Ruby desired a ship that could carry each aspect of her business empire, the first traveling airship of hedonistic joys. During the construction of this vessel, Lady Ruby fell pregnant and gave birth to two sons and three daughters.
From here, Rubella would simply mind her business, tend her young and oversee her airships construction, though after the death of Iksehn Maloth, it is said she became rather recluse for a time, it is assumed she may have had personal connection to the spymistress but little else is known to the nature of their relationship. Despite this her business would continue to flourish.
