Kirn Doral

Kirn Doral is a massive dwarven citadel built into the eastern side of the Thundering Peaks. Entry to outsiders is strictly forbidden unless they have some sort of political standing or appropriate paperwork. The city itself is identifiable from a great distance away by the colossal battlements built around the mountains that shelter tiered farms behind them and the great statue of a dwarf holding a hammer and sickle overhead in front of the great bronze gates to the city below.

Demography and Population

~ 45, 000 with Dwarves (primarily Mountain Dwarves) comprising a very large majority and a significant Gnomish minority. Other races making residence here is rare.

Military

While members of every guild serve in the People's Army, most commanders come from the Soldiers' Guild.

Legislative Body
Every citizen in Kirn Doral belongs to a guild and every five years, each guild elects a representative to the Workers' Council. The Workers' Council regularly convenes to vote upon new decrees at the turn of each season although any one member may call for a meeting in times of great peril. All new decrees must have a 3/4 majority to pass and all guilds are expected to uphold the Council's decision to the letter.
Judicial Body
In Kirn Doral, criminal hearings are presided over by the Lawbearers, a group of council appointed judges. In very serious cases, these hearings may be held before the Workers' Council. The law of Kirn Doral is enforced by the Stonecutters, a group chosen by the Workers' Council to act as guards and jailers. This is seen as a great honor and many make it a life-long career.
