Terumori Shiba

One of ten children, Terumori spent years as a child trying to stand out from his siblings. He discovered a passion for kabuki much to his family's amusement, but when it was discovered he had a powerful connection to the spirits of Fire, he was sent to train with the Moshi at the Dojo of Lady Sun. Having completed his training as a Sun Sentinel with flying colors, he was recalled home to act as the yojimbo for Kaito Ayane, a shrine keeper being dispatched to the Face of the East Castle.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Terumori has a lithe, athletic build. He's not especially bulky, and rather is quite dexterous with quick reflexes.

Identifying Characteristics

Terumori's wild red hair is his most eye catching feature. He dyes it red to look like a kabuki actor.

Special abilities

Terumori wields the Blazing Tears of Lady Sun. When he invokes the spirits of fire, they will bring no harm to the innocent and righteous, but will burn through the defenses of any tainted or otherworldly threat who might dare bring harm to Amaterasu's children.

Strapped to his belt is an ornate kabuki mask, and hanging from his inrou is an Omamori dedicated to Kisshoten.

Education

Terumori trained at the Dojo of Lady Sun in the Mukade no Tani where he studied the ways of the Sun Sentinels.

Employment

Following his gempuku, Terumori remained in Centipede lands helping guard the Moshi's territory. However, he's most recently been assigned to serve as the yojimbo of Kaito Ayane.

Accomplishments & Achievements

On the long journey to Face of the East Castle, his traveling party was assaulted. His quick reflexes allowed him to not only guard his own charge, but additionally Kaito Noriaki who's own yojimbo was killed in the attack.

Morality & Philosophy

Terumroi struggles with the Phoenix habit of keeping secrets, especially after so many years living with the Centipede, who have no such compunctions. like both clans, he values the tenet of Righteousness above all else, but cannot bring himself to put Sincerity to the wayside.

Terumori is a big fan of kabuki, and is familiar with the classics as well as contemporary troupes of renown.
He hates lying, and even attempting to conceal the truth causes him visible stress.

Terumori is the first person to throw himself into danger to protect his charge and comrades, and never hesitates to do what is right even if it might bring him harm.

Contacts & Relations

Of the samurai at Face of the East Castle, Terumori really only has a relationship with Kaito Ayane and Kaito Noriaki.  He is very protective, if somewhat teasing, towards the two country bumpkins.

Family Ties

Terumori has six brothers and three sisters.
Two of his brothers, Shiba Sanjuro and Kitsuki Tengen, still reside at Ukabu Mura, fulfilling duties there.
His fellow triplets, Shiba Mikio and Shiba Shiki are yojimbo for a pair of twin Isawa shugenja somewhere in the Isawa Mori.
His youngest brother Shiba Kirei is training at Shiro Gisu with the Asako family for his gempuku.
His elder sister Shiba Manami was the aide of the governor of Ukabu Mura before her untimely murder at Winter Court 1123.
His younger twin sisters, Shiba Mei and Shiba Kuon are still too young to have been sent off for training, and remain with his parents.

Religious Views

Having trained with the Moshi, Terumori offers the majority of his prayers to Lady Sun, but he remains a devout Shinseist like most Shiba.

The earnest and direct yojimbo of Kaito Ayane. Trained as a Sun Sentinel in the Mukade Tani by the Centipede Clan, Terumori wields holy fire to defend his comrades from the supernatural threats of the Shinomen Forest and Shadowlands.
