Summary

Aphrodite is the Satyr goddess of beauty, love, sex, and war.  

Worship

Aphrodite is one of the Sylvan Gods that has been adopted most by non-Satyrs. She is worshipped across the Satyr land, though often in different ways. In Mikolosi and Sakilos, she is primarily worshipped in her capacity as a war goddess. In Tanalki, Masyros, and the rest of Laivra, she is not seen as warlike.  

Festivals

The 4th day of the month is traditionally set aside for honoring Aphrodite. The following holidays are also dedicated to her:
  • Aphrodisia. 19th of Seyhul. A celebration of beauty in Tanalki and Masyros. The day is marked with parades, beauty competitions, and public displays of paintings and sculptures of the body. Flowers are sacrificed to Aphrodite on this day.
  • Thriamatus. Adraster 28. A holiday dedicated to the goddess Nike and to the victors of the Almaspor. Athena and Aphrodite are also honored on this day.
  • Kinyrades. Deghome 16-18. A celebration of Aphrodite's birth and Adonis' rebirth. It involves athletic competitions, priests giving out salt, and bloodless sacrifices.

    Aphrodite was born either from the Aphrodite is married to Hephaestus but had had the majority of her children with Ares, including Eros, Phobos, and Deimos.
