Trecandus, the Passing Hands

A stall owner is in the middle of the row harrying passerby and I slip through others to avoid the merchant. It seemed they were hocking nothing but cheap jewelry. Nickel alloy painted gold was not worth my time. The wind tugged at my hood and I pulled it down so my appearance would not be noted in this market; I was not in the mood for the disdainful stares that accompanied being a half breed.   The fellow I was to meet waited at the corner of another stall in the black market and I could smell the scent of the expensive tobacco in his pipe. Our greeting exchange did not matter, I only needed the item that I came for, that was all. The other peddlers here selling gods-knew-what from chipped statuettes, moth eaten silks, and scrolls with magical texts that were long since dead. They could call them artifacts all they pleased. They were silly trinkets and collectibles compared to the big ticket item.   My breath fettered when he opened the chest and the vibrant glow of pulsing colors made my pupils contract. I wanted the best quality, the bottle that pulsed white and blue. There was no question. We made the exchange and the goods passed between our hands. The vial was cool to the touch and made my skin tingle.   This was it, the reagent I was missing.

Structure

The market is composed of merchants and facilitators who manage the flow of goods in and out while being supplied by scavengers daring or desperate enough to travel into Abanver.

Culture

The trade here is very cut throat and competition is fierce. Magic collectors, hedge mages, and anyone with an interest in the ancient to arcane has an interest with supplying or dealing with Trecandus and getting a leg up on each other for wealth and power.

Public Agenda

Trecadnus' reach extends beyond their base of operations in the small city of Dratuine much further inland, but the largest customer is by far Carovige. At this point in time they have a smuggling operation to move their products to the other major nations.
