Senatos Dhavosi: What it Means to be a Senator

For several thousand years, the governance of the Pripopuli (better known as the giant-folk) has been used to include the entirety of their populous in their decision making; rich and poor. The giants knew their system inside and out based on the falling order of strength and power from their creeds. The Storm and cloud giants occupied the least amount of seats due to their great power among the caste. Fire, Frost, Stone, and the barbarous Hill giants were treated as plebeians: the working and lower castes of their once advanced society. When the storm came, the peoples were ill-prepared. Only the most prominent and lucky of the creeds survived as the land of the giants was torn asunder, leaving the war-mongering hill-giants for dead. The Storm-Emperor of the giants, Dhaver, lead his people to their great ships and sailed for several years, living off of small islets that they found and fishing. Many died of disease and famine until one night they sighted a light in the surging fog. Eventually they met with the primitive humans of this new and strange land that lacked in magic and was abundant in dark and towering trees. The people who spoke with these humans had uneasy relations at first until convincing these tribal folk that they, too, have lost their homes. The people that made communication with these humans were refereed to as senators and began to represent each individual creed of giants.
The senators today represent each of the giant creeds and their issues before the 6 consuls, 5 of which represent the giant creeds as a whole and 1 who represents the humans and other races of Dhaversland. Senators are elected by the peoples of each city that they represent. Cemahogg is the city of cloud giants and innovation, Ifdurough is the city of craftsmen and fire giants, Cyring is the city of clans and frost giants, Dunber is the underground city of arts and stone giants, and at the top of the nation lay Examos: the city of justice and storm giants. Each of these cities help to make the cultures of Dhaversland and each senator represents the different interests of the peoples, leading to no stone uncovered in politic.
Senators are influential people among the populous and are elected by the people through direct elections every 10 years. They are often people in society that have achieved great feats. It isn't very often that a Senator takes power through buying the people or criminal acts. Being the pinnacle of society and a true voice of the people is the true meaning behind Senatos Dhavosi.

Requirements

Must be born and be a citizen of Dhaversland. Must be a human, half-giant, or giant folk.

Appointment

They are voted in by the citizens of their home.

Duties

They are obligated to appeal to the interest of the people and follow the laws set by the Emperor.

Responsibilities

Helping to set taxes and representing the peoples desires.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

If the people believe that the senator is no longer fit to rule, they can vote them out with a majority vote.
