Industry & Trade

Most of the appeal in visiting Hroxal is the promise of uncovering ancient edifices riddled with gold and treasures. As such, the economy is heavily built upon that and their exporting of exotic plants like coffee beans.

History

4431 AOG - The city of Hroxal is founded by a large tribe of orcs that sailed on a decades-long pilgrimage to find their new home   4468 - For the last three decades, the orcs planted the seeds of civilization and began to grow off of it. They farmed corn, coffee, flax, and whatever they could find. Eventually, the apostles of Iyanda discovered druidcraft and began to thrive as they "reawoke" the spirit of Iyando, the god of the moon.   4492 - The country of Hroxal has grown so great in size that it began trading with countries all over. It spanned the entirety of what Sundervale is today and frequently attacked what was Northern Ordia.   5132 - Unwise to the coming Storm, Hroxal reveled in fire festivals at night and great feasts during the day.   1 PGS - In a matter of days, the Empire of Hroxal was swallowed by the Storm, killing over 80% of its population in its wake.   2-72 - The capital city that was once thought lost was rediscovered by orcish survivors. Slowly, they began to work their way through the ruins, slowly cleansing it of ghosts, Pale, monsters, and looters.   94 - Hroxal has mostly been cleansed and the people there began to live out of the great edifices of sandstone. Hroxal becomes known as the last bastion of orcs in Vhosparus as they plan for their attack against the tyrant Albrecht. They, of course, succeeded and were offered the entirety of the island where Hroxal lay. It would later become known as the Island of Traitors due to many orcish assaults on Albrecht's empire. The government decided to follow in the path of their progenitors and put Iyandan apostles and Iyandon druids back in a place of power. This was no mistake, for, with their wisdom and guidance, the city slowly began to grow into civilization again.   95-216 - Hroxal becomes a destination for any and all exiles, adventurers, and pirates alike. Around the year 100 was the dawn of treasure hunting, for explorers located several ancient tombs and other edifices deep in the jungles. Gold, jewels, and great artifacts were said to be found in the ruins.    217-425 - The Orcish peoples became less and less tolerant of Breccin and eventually cut off trade from their city. Surprisingly, this caused their economy to boom, for goods sold for cheap and the population remained about the same due to lack of disease, battles, and conduits from Breccin. 426-Present - Hroxal is mostly home to orcs, but many exiles and outcasts of Breccin are also known to live here.
