The end of Alchemy

Discovery, Scientific

994AAE
998AAE

Two alchemists engendered a creation that would see them, and Alchemy, forever shunned by the nation of knowledge and magic.

Driven by ambition and a desire to unlock new realms of understanding, two daring alchemists ventured into the uncharted territories of transmutation. They dared to intertwine the sun and the moon, forging an alloy known as Electrum—the melding of gold and silver. This act of alchemy was both an exploration of the arcane and a metaphorical melding of day and night, birth and rebirth, light and shadow.

Yet, as with any audacious revelation, their creation bore consequence. The birth of Electrum was perceived as a disruption of the sacred balance, an affront to the delicate equilibrium of the cosmos. The nation, deeply entrenched in its traditional beliefs, viewed this newfound alloy with disdain. The amalgamation of gold and silver stirred a tempest of anger and fear, rippling through the hearts of the populace.

In the wake of this event, the craft of alchemy was cast into the shadows, shunned and avoided. The alchemists, once hailed as seekers of wisdom, became pariahs in their own society. The forbidden act of fusing gold and silver, a symbol of enlightenment and the celestial dance, had forever altered the course of their nation's history.

Thus, in the year 994 of the imperial calendar, the iridescent gleam of Electrum cast a long shadow over the realm, forever leaving an indelible mark on the tapestry of our mystical past.
