Chymeric Method

The Chymeric method is both the name of a book by Gemæd Chymer, and the idea presented in the book. It was posthumously published by his long-time friend the Mysterious Mistress using one of his own inventions (now known all over Voktegård in academic circles as a "Scribing Stamper". The Chymeric method was developed by Gemæd and guided all of his botanical and alchemical experiments. It is now used widely by artificers the world over. It has six basic steps:
  1. Observe
  2. Gather Information
  3. Form a hypothesis
  4. Test the hypothesis with highly controlled experimentation
  5. Analyze the data
  6. Report conclusions drawn from that data
All academic pursuits that utilize this method have come to be called "chymeric". The method has led to many Technological Advancements of the Fifth Age.
