Void Realms Original Ideas and Plans for the Future

My original vision of the Void Realms was a universe where magic was treated like a technology. The current setting only goes to the mid 500s AU, but I'm working on an expansion to the world that will go to the year 1096 AU, by that time technology will be less like the medieval/renaissance era and more like WW1. I decided to have the world set in the 500s for now because this is the century where the first dynasty of the Cennti Empire crumbles, and it has its first major civil war. In the first draft every world was created by an individual god, and some of these gods created a people in their image to inhabit that world. The first couple of drafts were very heavy in the religion and mythology, I also wrote a lot more about races other than humanity in the Void.   Other Races of the Void: In the early drafts there were stories of how Orc shamans created the first void-worthy ships, and used their advanced magic to unite the warring tribes and conquer the stars. There was always a power balance between the different ethnic groups within the Orcs, there were brown, red, green, and gray Orcs. One group might be in power for a couple centuries, then another would usurp their position on top. This is all still technically canon, but is only slightly referenced in the latest draft, during what the Cennti Empire called the Green War(365-368). An inaccurate name because the Orcs were ruled by the Red Orcs during this time. The Elves were also given a significant history, thousands of years of expansion followed by decline, followed by a brief golden age, then even more decline. The Elves built an artificial moon named Janus, which was their capital for millennia, until a group called the Cult of Moor launched it into a star, where it stayed for a thousand years. A an artificial world stuck in the dimension of pure magic that binds all stars, the Moors became the Void Elves, the Void Realms equivalent of Dark Elves or Drow. I also wrote a lot about a cluster of stars called the Fount, which was the site of many wars between empires that spanned dozens of worlds.   Religion in the Void: Every race in the Void was created by a god in their image, man was created by Yeshua, the Orcs by Ralok, etc. The early drafts focused heavily on religion, but with each rewrite it became less and less relevant. Now there are many religions, and no way to tell which one is true. The only religion that has survived mostly intact in the latest draft is worship of the Madonna, or Great Mother. This religion takes inspiration from both early Christianity, when it was outlawed by the Romans, as well as the more recent history of the Mormons. The Hims are an ethnic group from Eot that worship the Madonna, and have been persecuted countless times for their faith. Him have emigrated from Eot en-mass on several occasions, enclaves of Hims can be found on every world, but the largest would be Himlothland. A world settles almost entirely by the Hims, until the Loths began emigrating their as well. Loths are people who worship the Madonna but are not ethnically Him.   Cennti Empire: While originally I had all these different races and their histories, I decided to focus on one race, and get much greater detail. The race I had the most lore on at the time was man. I have countless googles docs that I have yet to transcribe to World Anvil, describing the history of Eot, man's homeworld. All of its ancient civilizations, its ethnic groups, and its important people. When I'm fleshing out their timeline, when they come in contact with another race among the stars, I will begin to focus on that group. Though the current date of the setting is in the 500s, man makes first contact with the Elves in the 600s, and there is a huge war between mankind and a minor Elven king on the edge of the Elven worlds.   Technology of the Future: In the 700s weapons analogous to cannons and muskets will be developed, firing magic missiles instead of bullets. Detect magic grenades will be invented in the 800s, when they go off, anything magical in the blast radius will light up like a christmas tree, this is one way of tagging enemies for artillery to zone in on. Nightclubs will have magic orbs of light moving around in the air, changing color, and making music that sounds similar to dubstep, but magical.
