Hallowglow grew up in the city of Westfjord, the capital of North India, where he was hastily indoctrinated into the northern crime guilds. He started out as a petty theft at the age of 14, using his small size to his advantage. Once he had proven himself to be competent and not allowing himself to be caught, he was given more daring jobs. Sweeping houses and businesses were his specialties, effortlessly walking with the shadows.
Many of his fellow thieves were intimidated by his unmatched skill, he was only 17 and pulled in more money than any other. however, they weren't intimidated by his ability to bring in the gold, but by his ability to move silently. Many had said that he could murder every one of them in the same room without them knowing. He had never taken a life before, but if his colleagues thought he could master that too, why wouldn't he do it?
At the age of 18, he had joined a small band of assassins, making his first kill with ease, and had performed several more jobs to make a name for himself. He abandoned these assassins when he had been proposed an offer from the largest assassin guild in the north. He had been personally asked to join their ranks, and take out the competition he had just defected from. He stayed with the group for the rest of his career, swiftly making his way up the ranks and earning the title of Leader. 
He took countless lives over his career, some estimate well over 1000 by his own hands. He was caught only once when attempting the murder of the High King of Zidia. It would have been an easy kill for him, but he wanted to make it an obvious kill. He wanted the king to know who killed him. Simply barging into the palace and striding up to him, knives both drawn certainly sent a statement. he had dodged many of the guards as he ran towards the throne, only failing to avoid the king's personal guard. He was arrested and imprisoned. The next day he was sent to the chopping block.
