High Royal Guard

The personal platoon of the High King of Zidia. They are provided royal ceremonial armour and the best-made weapons in the kingdom. They are loyal to a fault and are willing to lay down their lives for the King.  The guard contains the 37 best fighters from every kingdom in Zidia. All unmatched in battle with countless kills each to their names. The High King has nothing to fear if the palace is ever rushed, even being a decent fighter himself, although unnecessary with his excessive protection.

Composition

Manpower

36 guards and 1 commander serving as the personal guard of the High king. The platoon is divided into 4 squads of 9 guards.

Weaponry

Two of the squads are equipped with polearms. The other two squads are equipped with longswords and kite shields. The commander is equipped with a sword and shield as well as a longbow.

Structure

The commander is the commanding officer for the platoon. Each of the four squads in the platoon has their own sergeant and if needed will be tasked with leading their squads.

Tactics

The two polearm squads take the front line in event of an attack on the palace, using their reach. The remaining two squads block doorways and routes to the High King. Their effort is always to prevent an attack on the High King at all costs.

Training

The members of the Royal Guard are chosen by the commander. If a soldier shows immense skill in battle or great bravery, he may be chosen to replace a member. The member replaced will be demoted but still very celebrated among the army and will be promoted back to Royal Guard if a place opens up for them.

Logistical Support

All support is provided to them through the crown. They are provided more recourses and support than any other soldier in the military.

Auxilia

If the city is taken all high ranking military is called to protect the palace and the king with the Guard.
