Scriptures of Stone

Stone 1

In the beginning, all was empty.

There was but the darkness of Surinol, endless in depth and infinite in reach. But the darkness was heavier in some places, and in others, lighter. And one day, one place in the darkness got so heavy, it's weight caused it to wrap in on itself, forming the first particle of salt. And the particle grew, and it grew, over Aeons, it grewAnd finally it gained consciousness, and the form of a woman.

And the woman pondered herself and the darkness around her.

And she saw that she was of darkness but not darkness herself.

So she was alone.

And So she named herself:

"Bera will be my name", she said, "For Bera means Mother, and a mother I will be and lonely no more".

And so took a crumb off herself and nurtured it into a man.

And the man she named Aidar, for Aidar means dawn and his life burned bright.

His life was the first light.

And then there were two and the they did what two do.

So came Bera to motherhood.

And when the time came for birth, she stomped in her pain.

So came about the mountains and valleys.

And as her water broke, the world was flooded.

And with the flood, came life.

And into this life, the first of Man was born.

Stone 2

The world of Man was plentiful and mild.

There was life in the depths of the oceans. There was life in the heavens.

And life everywhere between.

Man walked in the shade of trees, all bearing fruit.

Man lived well and man lived long.

But the heart of Man was too deep within.

Covered in flesh.

Covered in bone.

And so the light of Aidar could not reach all the way.

Surinol remained.

And so Man came to feel the things it bore.

Fear coursed cold in his veins, whispering doubt and suspicion.

Envy bit into the chest, injecting its venom of lust and greed.

The spark of hate lodged itself behind his eyes, clouding them with anger and ignorance.

And so relations were shadowed by insecurity and jealousy.

Tainted by lies and betrayal.

Burned to ashes by violence and judgement.

Stone 3

With every sin of Man, the light of Aidar dimmed.

The life gifted by Bera tainted.

The days bled into the nights, the nights bled into the days.

Creatures were deformed into monstrous mockeries.

The trees grew sickly and stopped bearing fruit.

All was gray and growing darker.

With great confusion the Blessed Light watched. With great sorrow looked on the Mother of All.

Their gifts had been squandered and sullied. And Surinol was arising.

Stone 4

Finally, the First Salt and the Son of the First Salt had enough.

The darkness had grown too deep

Surinol was leaking into the world of their creation.

They agreed it was time to cleanse the world.

And together they raised the First Tempest.

Now waves rose from the very depths of the sea.

And the waves crashed upon the lands, low and high.

All was lost that had not escaped to the mountains

Then winds poured from the top of the heavens.

And the winds picked up the pieces, the trees and the bones and the tiny stones.

And with all this it ripped apart what remained.

All was lost that had not escaped to the mountains.

Stone 5

Aidar looked upon the destruction and he called upon the remnants of Man.

"Look! Look what your sin has wrought!", he said.

"From this dawn to the last dusk, you are in debt, for I gave you mercy", he said

And the debt of Man was a debt of pain.

No longer was Man to live in peace for it was given enemies.

No longer was Man to live long for disease now spread.

No longer would Man have stability for the cycles now began:

The Tempest would rise anew, cleansing all that had no cover from its rage.

The Mirrors would give Man time to reflect on the old sins.

The Illusions would be a cruel reminder of the paradise lost and the folly of Man.

The Struggles would test Man and keep Man humble.

So it was decreed by the Lord of Light and the Queen of Twilight. So it will be until the last dusk.
