Qarjazlim

Qarjazlim (Tagizdamian for "Black Lands of Pain") is a no man's land in the South West corner of the Qerjaz lowlands.
The area is on the border of Tagizdam and the Qasquamata which has led to recurring invasions of it by small Qasquamatan armies, even though there is no official war between the kingdoms. Because of this, the area is heavily fortified on the either side with dug in positions and traps of various kinds. Full fortresses have not been built, due to lack of interest on the Qasquamatan side and for fear of provoking a full war on the Tagizdamian side.
The land in between the competing powers' positions has long since been churned into what amounts to a bog born out of warfare, specked with the last ruined remnants of habitation in the area. Nothing grows there other than molds and mushrooms and there is little other life than some small amphibians that enjoy the bog environment.
