Myzild

An alien race that arrived sometime before The Vast Light. The ones to arrive were a group of refugees escaping from a devastating fungal disease. Unfortunately for all the denizens Visten they were not able to run away from it, but instead brought some of the deadly spores with them. Apparently it took a few decades for the fungus to evolve so that it could infect the first local species. Shortly after it was quite deadly to all of the organic beings. Luckily it would seem that the mutated one is not as contagious as the original used to be. The Myzild are quite unpopular for bringing the desease to the world.
