Luma

Luma is the magic that permeates the world. It's cause is unknown and not all of its effects are understood. What is known, however, is that raw luma is a highly dangerous substance. Coming into contact with small amounts of it causes delirium as well as hallucinations so vivid they are impossible to tell apart from reality.
With prolonged exposure, a victim of luma poisoning will also start to turn purple and finally falls into an unending slumber as Lucino Violac starts to set in. Once this happens they will suffer extremely lifelike nightmares, unable to wake, until their organs finally fail and they die.
The only known cure to luma poisoning is to remove the victim from the vicinity of any and all sources of luma. This is the case whether the poisoning is mild or has proggressed to a case of lucino violac, though survival in the latter case is rare.
Luma poisoning tends to leave long term effect on those that have survived it. Mild poisonings will leave survivors with anything between two weeks to a few months of occasional delirium and mild memory problems.
Survivors of severe poisoning will continue to suffer from serious issues of memory, finding it hard to remember things and mixing real and false memories. Occasional hallucinations and bouts of extreme emotional distress for little to no reason will plague them as well. They will also sleep unusually deeply, with the deep sleep often accompanied by very disturbing dreams that will feel very real.
