The Hospital of Infectious Care, Neovoly

The Aremkitian capital, Neovoly, has 10 hospitals. Each One has emergency treatment and diagnosis facilities, but specialises in treating different ailments. There are hospitals for mental health, dietary, drug, and physical rehabilitation, cancer and serious immune deficiancy. The most infectious are taken to the 'Plague House'. Officially called the Hospital of Infectious Care, it is up Scalp Hill on the site of the first medical facility in Voly which really was a plague house: simply for storing the sick far away from the thriving populous.   Today, the Aremkitian health service is provided completely at the expense of the state, with costs subsidised by private health service provided by the same doctors, in the same facilities, with the addition of private rooms, extra entertainment provision, and shorter waiting lists.   The Hospital of Infectious Care is the one exception to this private care option. Once under its care, all people (as it is available to citizens and non-citizens alike) are treated as equals, separated by the infection they have contracted and treated as expertly as possible.   Though Aremkitia is not a world leader in medical R&D, their infectious care units are world leading and almost perfectly contain any infectious disease from spreading in their cities.   Today it manages to run below budget as its vaccine programmes, containment protocols and treatments have driven infectious disease down across the country. Neovoly's HIC is the largest in the country, and is able to operate at just 27% capacity, meaning they have equipment, resources, and staff to spare for the other facilities, helping balance the books. If there were a serious outbreak of an infectious disease in the city today, however, its local health system would be overwhelmed by regular maladies they would no longer have the resources to manage.
