The Dragonclan of Siar, Nosch

Though their Clan Name is Nosxioch (or Nosch for short), there are so few Dragonborn clans in Siar that they are most commonly referred to as The Dragonclan. This name is often spoken in reverent tones within high praises. Though the Carta Family holds the most power in Siar, The Dragonclan are by far the most beloved. In public, which is where they are usually found, they show great amounts of humility and generosity. Each member of the Clan, from the elders to the youngest, are intelligent and honorable. Because of this, there are many in Siar who believe The Dragonclan are the optimal rulers of the country, even though they themselves have avoided taking the severe measures required to wrest control of Siar from the Cartas.   The Dragonclan have managed to acquire great wealth in Siar through surprisingly modest means. The Clan patriarch, who died over 100 years ago, was an accomplished Alchemist. He prized himself in his ingenuity in creating things that others did not conceive. While most Alchemists worked entirely in medicine, poisons, or the like; Balasar Nosch found joy in creating a new type of beverage. His wife, Akra, was an enterprising soul who convinced Balasar to go through the trouble of copyrighting his creation even though he had originally intended to share it freely. This would not only supply them with income, but it would allow the clan to manufacture and distribute his creation however they saw fit. Most in Siar would have taken this as an opportunity to artificially limit supply and drive up prices to make themselves as rich as possible. The Dragonclan set themselves apart by making sure their product was easily accessible and reasonably priced. Since their new beverage was totally unique in all of Vintum, they had no trouble in making an astounding profit despite their generous practices.   It is widely believed that if The Dragonclan stopped giving as much as they did to charity, they would be able to buyout The Cartas control of Siar. If this is the case, nobody is quite sure why they have not done so. The Dragonclan are reluctant to speak on the subject, but occasionally they cannot help but admit they do not approve of The Cartas methods or policies.   The Rebellion in Siar is rumored to be eyeing The Dragonclan as replacements for The Cartas, though no Dragonclan would ever associate with what are essentially traitors.
