Humaen

Humaen were an ancient race and the first sapient species to roam Vexum. As scientific history progresses, more will be learned of the humaen. Current research indicates that this species was the early form of man, from which most of the humanoid sapient species in Vexum evolved. The only major exception to this is the elves, who do not share lineage with other humanoid creatures. It is accepted that humaen were the first animals to learn how to use tools, as well as being the first to stand erect. As humaen began to spread from their home in the Salshaw Forest, their needs and areas of interest diverged, leading to the evolution of many of the diverse sapient species now found in Vexum. Humans bear the closest resemblance to these humaen ancestors. The Gerrum were another example of close relatives to the humaen, having adapted differently to humans in their evolution without straying too far from the same genetic template.
