Kordo-Civricism (Religion)

The largest religion amongst the nation-states of Vestra and the continent of Eropei. Many shrines and traveling missionaries make it their life's goal to spread the word of the One Truth.   Though there are many religions in Vestrata that are polytheistic or monotheistic, Kordovarianism/Civricism is peculiar amongst these, as no god is actively worshipped. There are saints in the faith, such as Lady Civri, "The Living Truth" or the more well depicted Supreme Justicar. The basis for the religion itself is more symbolic in it's approach.   The Civrites/Kordites believe in a concept called "The One Truth", which states that life itself is cyclical. All actions are predicated, and shall predicate others. A balance in repetition shall be struck, with the light illuminating shadow, and shadow tailing darkness. Though beliefs diverge, the core principle that all in life is like a snake eating its own tail.   Civricism Civrites follow the lifestyle of the Lady Civri, known as "The Living Truth". This is not an admission of godhood, but an acknowledgement of the pious lifestyle she led. Lady Civri was calm, kind, and pragmatic. No amount of greed would sway her from helping the less fortunate, because she knew it would consume her. She knew to raise a hand in violence would only continue the cycle. Hate would not touch her heart, for it would breed a mental poision and cloud her judgement.   Kordovarianism Kordites follow a code of chivalry set to mimic the Supreme Justicar, as set by one of his followers. A stout warrior who followed the demigod like man through the realms kept a journal of it all. A man named Kordon Penitus, who became the first disciple of the sect.   The Justicar himself was a larger that in life figure, and was rumored to be able to pull off feats no mortal man can do. From slaying the sea serpent Jorumgar, to preventing an ancient Thritic lich from ending the world, the Justicar had many heroic moments. Some think these are tales to teach moral lessons, and to inspire ambition, while others hold them as historic fact.
