Isharavan Asur

"Power is truth. Wealth is survival, and the land belongs to the mighty." -MahaShatriyka ("Might of Asur")

Brother to Khem, and god of Upper Amarron. Isharavan is the patron of agriculture, power, ambition, and wealth. In his jealousy, he slew his brother, and hid his deed along the very river that is famous in Amarron today.   His brother gone, Isharavan grew in power and wealth. Planting his brother's dismembered corpse alon the Enephraten river had created fertile ground. His name was uttered far and wide, and many came to learn of his efforts in an attempt to achieve them as well. Soon, he ascended to  godhood, and was praised for his strength and conquests.   Once his brother revived, Isharavan was angry, and bid everyone to not listen. It was profane and dark to raise the dead, and what be dead should stay that way. Despite his protests, people flocked to his brother, and tainted their minds with the secrets of undeath. In truth, he knew that if he were slain, he could not achieve what his brother had. He was a god, but so too was his brother.   A long seated rivalry between his followers and his brothers began. Both sides opposing the other, fights in the names of their gods were common, with no clear victory for either brother. Lines were drawn, and peace was struck between the two factions. This division is how the countries of Upper and Lower Amarron were formed.   Ishravan withdrew into his palace, and has not been seen for millenia. Some doubt his existence, while others believe he died. None know, as any who enter his palace, do not exit. Offerings from food to treasure are brought to the gates, and are gone by morning.
