Horus
The largest, and last, stronghold of humanity. Once the center of learning and cultural growth in the early years after The Cracking, it has fallen into disrepair as the long centuries have passed. Now, very few remember what the world was once like, even as legends. Horus, like all other human settlements, are nearly relics of a world that has forgotten they ever existed.
Geography
The Clifftops
Closest to the surface also means the hottest. Only the destitute, non-violent criminals, and stone pod farms are found here.
The Midland
Home to the merchants and craftsman of Horus, it is a sprawling area fitted out with lifts and chutes to ferry goods from one side of Horus to the other. It is also home to The Wardstone, humanity's protection that hides them from the beasts and beings that make the rest of Vestige their home.
The Bottoms
The only area of flat land within the canyon that Horus is built within, it provides the influential, wealthy, and powerful rulers of Horus the opportunity to build proper stone buildings for homes. The Bottoms wasn't always known as such. It was unofficially changed during the short reign of Magistrate Errick, a rather oafish man given to over-taxing the merchants of the time. In their eyes, he was a right ass.
Fauna & Flora
Stone Pods
The hardy little plant is the only one native to the cliffs of Horus. Filled with nutrient rich plant-flesh, it sustains the people of Horus. Unfortunately, it requires a temperature higher than many natives are willing to withstand for germination to occur. Thus, the poor and destitute are made to live near the edge of the clifftop, risking death from both the great heights and punishing temperatures.
