Vaash

The easternmost land of the Eastern Triangle, Vaash is the land of gold.   Literally known for its massive gold mines and craftsmen, Vaash has always been a desired land by the many nations of Seraht. The gold veins were discovered around four thousand years ago, and it is rumored that the only reason they were discovered were by a pact made with devils. This is said because the ruling family for ages, the Zenas family, has been a very tight-knit and wealthy family of tieflings. Although there is no evidence to suggest this family has been anything but tieflings, the commonfolk believe it was this pact that turned them into devil-kin.   Vaash has been conquered, once by Xandulor three millennia ago and more recently by Thuon Khor. However, as possibly the most wealthiest individuals in all of Seraht, the Zenas family has always come out somehow better for it. As the owners of the Gilded Guard, the extremely elite and well-funded army of Vaash, the Zenas family fought off invaders and when it seemed they would lose, they would cut a deal that would keep them not only in power but it would also end up profitable for them.   Many people within Vaash are either miners, smelters, or craftsmen. While it is dirty work, as Vaash seems to have an unlimited amount of raw resources in gold, steel, gems and so on, the laborers are paid better than most well-connected merchants in other places, which is why they stay so content with their political situation and have never revolted against the ruling family.   The current ruler is Sovereign Yulina, a gray-skinned young tiefling woman who seems to have incredible political and economic skill. She is well loved by the people and many often come to see her speak from her place of power in the city of Ashuret. She has great ties with Thuon Khor and through her, many of Seraht's colonies in the New World have been funded.
