Silent Claw

the Conflux is riddled with dissidents and vigilantes bent on bringing justice to their communities. Of course, in order to effectively combat Enforcement, They need weapons, which are heavily controlled. So, the dissidents found a solution: The silent claw. A weapon that is easily created, concealed, and utilized outside official channels.

Utility

The silent claw consists of at least one pressurized gas canister Connected to any number of barrels loaded with small knives or needles. The device is usually worn above the wrist, with triggers affixed to the wearer's paws. When the wearer flexes each of their fingers, the air is released through the corresponding tube, shooting the projectile through the air in the direction the arm is pointing.
The weapon is very effective at short ranges, but very quickly loses power and accuracy over longer distances. If the target is more than fifty feet away, even the most skilled users will struggle to inflict any real damage on enemy combatants. However silent claws are light and easily concealed under the sleeve, and make very little noise compared to traditional firearms and plasma weaponry, making them perfect for stealthily incapacitating unsuspecting enemies.
Most models (of which there are many) do not have a clip. instead, each knife must be reloaded manually, a process that can be time-consuming mid-combat. As such most wielders of silent claws will have a backup weapon handy, usually some form of sword, knife, or club.

If you want to make a character who uses a silent claw in DnD 5e, it's a Simple light weapon with the Reload(3), Ammunition and Ranged(20/60) properties, as well as a special property that allows you to make an additional attack with it as a bonus action as if you were wielding another in your other hand. on a hit it deals 1d4 peircing damage. It costs the equivalent of 2 GP to buy on the black market or 1 GP of materials to craft with smithing tools. Silent claws can use either daggers or darts as ammunition.

Complexity

The silent Claw is popular among organized crime and paramilitary groups within the Conflux because of it's simplicity. Anyone with a machine shop, and a few folks without, can make a silent claw with just scraps they find around town.
