Anthro-Rodentia

The dominant race of Veron, Anthro-Rodentia are furry, long-eared, humanoid beings originally native to Norvus which have colonized and conquered much of the world. Earliest records of Anthro-Rodentia Date back to the Old Wars . Most Anthro-Rodentia are citizens of the Conflux.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Anthro-rodentia are bipedal. They usually sport large ears resembling those of a mouse or rabbit and are covered from head-to-toe in fur.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Anthro-Rodentia are primarily vegetarians, though their digestive systems allow for a variety of diets. Their favorite foods are generally leafy and green.

Civilization and Culture

Major Organizations

Many tribes were formed and broken during the Old Wars. Among them were the Dark Tribe and the Light tribe. Many years later the Conflux was formed and became the major ruling power of Veron.

Average Technological Level

Anthro-Rodentia were long seperated into distinct tribes and as such had many differing levels of technological achievement. Since the Conflux has taken over, Anthro-Rodentia are enjoying the highest standard of living of any race currently living on Veron. Some common technologies found in Anthro-Rodentia settlements are electric automobiles, refrigeration units, full-body medical scanners and LEDs. Some less common but functional technologies include plasma rifles and forcefield emitters.

History

For thousands of years, Anthro-Rodentia have been the dominant species of Veron. Their historical records extend back to the Old Wars, when they were apparently a savage, warlike race. Any records of Anthro-Rodentia before the Old Wars have been lost; if they ever existed at all.

Historical Figures

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Anthro-rodentia have had contact with few other sapient species, most notably the Mantis. When they do make contact, rodentia are inevitably the technologically superior of the two and will usually become the overlord in the relationship, whether through trade or warfare.

Fascinating. I'm glad I stumbled upon this article as I am soon to consider my own anthro race and I find this a unique and inspiring take. It's a good base, but I would like to see it expanded further, especially with pictures bringing us into your mental image of what it is you're detailing.   Still, an interesting read, and worthy enough of a follow.

Posted some pics per your suggestion. I just used some things I drew for my other articles. I'm not really sure what else to say here; any suggestions?

A few more details might help flesh out the species. Things like beauty ideals, naming conventions, any odd quirks (Things like if there's a gender imbalance, or if every so often one is born with a 'defect')
