Gnome (Sylvneblin)

As a forest gnome, you have a natural knack for illusion and inherent quickness and stealth. forest gnomes are rare and secretive. They gather in hidden communities in sylvan forests, using illusions and trickery to conceal themselves from threats or to mask their escape should they be detected. Forest gnomes tend to be friendly with other good-spirited woodland folk, and they regard elves and good fey as their most important allies. These gnomes also befriend small forest animals and rely on them for information about threats that might prowl their lands.   Ability Scores: Choose one of:

Size: Small   Speed: 25 ft.   Darkvision. Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.   Gnome Cunning. You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.   Natural Illusionist. You know the minor illusion cantrip. Biological Traits

A gnome's energy and enthusiasm for living shines through every inch his or her tiny body. Gnomes average slightly over 3 feet tall and weigh 40 to 45 pounds. Their tan or brown face's are usually adorned with broad smiles (beneath their prodigious noses), and their bright eyes shine with excitement. Their fair hair has a tendency to stick out in every direction, as if expressing the gnome's insatiable interest in everything around

Dietary Needs and Habits

The gnome's diet consists mostly of fruits nuts and berries. They generally don't eat meat if they can help it. Pine cones are a special gnomish delicacy.

In gnomish society the older the gnome, the more respect is due. The eldest member of the community is looked to as an unofficial leader of sorts.

Forest gnomes are most common within Region: Lockwood Forest, however it is not unheard of to find small communities of them in other forests.

Common Dress Code

A gnome's personality is writ large in his or her appearance. A male gnome's beard, in contrast to his wild hair, is kept carefully trimmed but often styled into curious forks or neat points. A gnome's clothing, though usually made in modest earth tones, is elaborately decorated with embroidery, embossing, or gleaming jewels. Gnomes enjoy collecting hats of all shapes and sizes and it is rare to see one without some form of head ornament.

History

The gnomes were once creatures of the Feywild who traveled to Verdraxis to escape the clutches of the dark fey. led by their goddess Fadwe they settled on the places where the veil between the Feywild and Verdraxis were thin.
Lifespan
Gnomes mature at the same rate humans do, and most are expected to settle down into an adult life by around age 40. They can live 350 to almost 500 years.

Forest gnome skin color ranges between shades of brown and tan. Their hair and eyes can take on almost any color of the rainbow.
