Stoesser Class Battleship

The atmosphere on the bridge of the TKM Stoesser was tense. They were at the head of the battle group and there were reports of enemy ships in the area. Captain Freya Velitel stood in front of the bridge windows watching the clouds above the Gigur Sea drift peacefully past the bow. She had ordered her bridge crew to remain vigilant. She reached into the breast pocket of her jacket and pulled out a cigarette. As she lit it, there was a cry from one of her lookouts.
“Captain! We have a Deyrnas frigate off the port bow!” cried the ensign. Freya pulled up her binoculars and confirmed the target. “Battle stations! Get the gunners in their turrets now!” ordered Freya. A red light flashed, and a klaxon sounded. She could see her crew running about the deck, preparing for battle.
She turned on her intercom, “All stations. Enemy off the port bow. Guns, position at 270 degrees. Distance, three kilometres.” She watched the guns begin to turn towards the enemy frigate. The Stoesser’s main armament was eight 38cm guns mounted in four turrets along the super structure. Only the front two guns could come to bear on the frigate. “Guns on target,” buzzed the intercom.
“Fire,” ordered Freya. The whole ship shook as the guns fired. The shockwave from the cannons shook the whole ship. Freya allowed herself a pleasurable smile. She loved the feeling of the powerful weapons. She raised her binoculars to watch the impacts. Three of the shells missed but one impacted the hull, causing an explosion that caused black smoke to belch from the hole. The frigate began to list in the air.
“HIT!” she cried, “Another salvo.” The guns fired again. This time three rounds hit. The first as to the propellers on the stern. The second disabled one of the frigates turrets, and the third impacted the superstructure. The frigate began to loose altitude, trailing black smoke.
