Aito's Heart

The brightest star in the night sky and the central star in the constellation of the Architect.

History

One of the earliest recorded uses of this bright star is the part it plays in the holy ceremony of The Passing. In past eras the faith would use the position of the star and those around it to decide if it was time for the year to end and the new one to be ushered in. It was rudimentary, and with the creation of the Astral calendar this method was soon replaced, but in the time it was used it was often thought of to be accurate. In fact, even after the calendar had been created and put in place across much of the continent the stars were still trusted more than the new months and weeks system for several years.   The stars are still to this day important for navigation, both at land and sea. This star is the brightest in the night sky, and easily noticeable in the center of its constellation, which makes it perfect for tracking locations and directions. Star charts make this star one of the most prominent and new navigators are trained to always search for Aito's Heart when they begin to try and find their heading.   It was many eras ago that the constellation was named and the star earned its name, old cultures using it to tell the creation story of Aito. Now it rests in the sacred constellation of the Architect or Creator, but as well as being part of a story the star and those around it were used to track the movements of other stars and the moon around the planet as well as other mysterious astral bodies.
