Verdane, the City of Prosperity

Verdane was built on a promise, that no man or woman would be found wanting for anything within its walls and with its people. That every individual would be allowed their right to rise above their peers as a valued member of one of Verdane's guilds, working towards the future of the city, for better or for worse. That the citizens could place their trust on the leaders they had elected to lead the city they had so loved.   Verdane was built on a promise of Prosperity.   Whether it be the raucous bustle of the market districts, or the consistency of various guild runners and adventurers seeking to accomplish their tasks, Verdane always has something that needs to be done, or someone that wants something to be done. Given the relative recency of when Verdane was established as a centuries-old capital of a far-off land, the "Unity Bastion" always has a problem that needs fixing. The criminal elements looking to take advantage of ripe opportunity, the monsters seeking to wreak havoc amongst centers of civilization, the natives looking to take back a land that they once called theirs; all seek to threaten the delicate haven that Verdane provides. But there is a promise that keeps its citizens rooted to where they are: the vast amounts of skilled labor and untapped mineral resources that the sole empire of the continent of Providence posseses.   The City of Prosperity is also known as the "Unity Bastion"; a name that is plainly proven with a single glance at the streets within the walled cities. An elegantly-dressed tiefling comfortably discusses with an aasimar corner guard regarding the day's events. A disheveled, ragged goblin runs towards his scorned halfling partner, begging to be forgiven for fraternizing with the local satyr dancer. A school of multiple children were all being led towards the cultural museum of Verdane by the loxodon teacher. The citizens in the Unity Bastion know that the only scale society measures you in is the worth of your deeds and the value you can contribute, not what your species is.   Will you find your fortune here, adventurer?
