"The Depths of Shame"

Thousands of metres deep at some points, the Glures Stid, more frequently shortened to Glustid, is the deepest chasm on Vequesia. Once known as the Onkadatsi, or Those Who Give to Us, this canyon was once the heart of the Miryegu Empire and has survived much of the nation's history, including its bloodthursty wars against the Fervere nation, the casus belli often based on false premises.¹

Long before the Shames became what it is today — a desert, its borders ever-crawling forward onto the rich soils of Miryegu's countryside — there was Onkadatsi. If legend should be truth, it will be there long after the city that is its namesake falls as well. Despite its desert environment, it remains lush and green, its source of water somewhat diminished but largely undisturbed and certainly alive. Its peaks rise hundreds, sometimes thousands of metres into the air and its depths go just as far, if not farther. As of 3779 ADK, it remaisn the only bit of greenary in the Shames Desert.
