Freyaheim

In the year 9980 AoA, the woman known as Freya was born to two slave humans. Freya was chosen by the Angels to be experimented on due to her matured Mana Lobe, an organ in the brain that allows the races of Ventus to use Magic. This laboratory, which saw thousands of young children die in the angel's cruel experiments, was the first to witness the raw power the Mana had granted Freya to put an end to the tyranny of the Angels once and for all.   Formerly known as Laboratorium Experimentis pro Servis 1191, it was later renamed Freyaheim (Freya's Home) by the Church of the Divine Mother, a name the Magic Council adopted to officially brand the ruin.

Architecture

What remains of the laboratory is a single room with three stone beds, believed by many to have been Freya's family's slave home. The room was but one of hundreds of thousands, most of which have dilapidated beyond recognition.

History

Lady Freya was born in the year 9980 AoA (Age of Angels) to a pair of humans whose names have been lost to history. Freya was designated Servia Humana Valenciana 113125 (Valencian Human Servant 113125) by the Angels governing Valencia. In the year 9981, a month shy of her first birthday, Freya was subjected to her first experimentation. She was to have fireballs thrown at her as a way of testing her natural reflections; an experiment with a 98% death rate. Freya was the sole survivor of the experiment, of which there were 1241 test subjects, all under the age of two.   In the year 9985 AoA, the Mana appeared before Freya, unlocking her full potential in Magic, making her more powerful than any Angel in existence. At the tender age of five, Freya summoned enough power to obliterate everyone around her, including her captors as well as her parents. She was found by the sage Crutomist the Kuksolveki, who took her in as his apprentice. Freya would never return to this laboratory in her life.   The destruction of this laboratory was the first in many, many battles Freya would fight against the Angels, leading the Great Rebellion that led to the downfall of the Angel's tyranny.   Following the millenia after the Rebellion, the Magic Council would greatly restrict access to Freyaheim, allowing only a select few schollars to visit the site. Likewise, many Grand Mages would visit the site as well to marvel at what was, effectively, the birthplace of the Magic Council.   "There's a great aura in this place. Close your eyes, open your heart, and you can listen to the whispers of the past."- Grand Witch Chamira of Paradise Island.   "In this place there's this unmistakeable aura of hate and anger, the ghosts of the hundreds of thousands who died by the Angel's cruel experimentations. Even Freya's victory over the Angels was not enough to quell the pain that continues to permeate this hallowed ground, millenia after the fact."- Grand Witch Alandra Whistle the Heart of Gold.   "For billions in Ventus, this is a Holy Site. For the still living Angels, it is a monument to their shameful actions and the harm they have done to the world. In either case, it is far too important to abandon. To the Magic Council, I say: let us in!"- Sieg Adams, Historian.
