Grand Master Adarin Merion

After the discovery of the Temple of the Pillars of Faith in the Rim mountains 25 years ago where ancient texts revealing the prophecy of the return of the allfather god Io where found, the Order and Church of the holy Allfather (Kyrkan av den helige allfadern) were founded by Adarin Merion. The church rose quickly in power and influence and is becoming a major force to be reckoned with in most of the northern lands.

Background

Not very much is known about Adarin prior to the foundation of the church. He himself says that he served as a cleric and paladin of Bahamut, riding around the world pursuing evil. When he heard about the finding of an ancient temple buried in the Rim mountains he immediately traveled there and found the teachings within about the creation of the world and his deity by the allfather dragon Io to be profound. When the prophecy of the return of Io was uncovered by the excavating workers he made it his holy mission to retrieve the artefacts spoken of and bring the prophecy to its conclusion. For this purpose he recruited knights to travel the realms in search of the artifacts.   Actual Background
The above story is the official story, however the truth is quite different. Adarins true name is Erek Thul, an ancient red dragon. For many centuries he has roamed the world in disguise trying to find artefacts that he might use to regain the power he had during the long knight when he ruled over a large tract of land in the far northwest of the continent. When the Temple of the Pillars of Faith was discovered he traveled there and learned of the existence of extremely powerful relics of Io that could potentially allow him to gain power unlike any dragon since Tiamat and Bahamut roamed the world. He therefore through guile and intimidation, convinced four other chromatic dragons to form the Tribunal. He then formed the church of the allfather as a way of openly searching for the relics without arousing suspicion. The shadow networks of the Tribunal then allowed the church to gain power rapidly.
